final victory of the Estonian Gert Ki

The runner José Léonel Diaz Espitia wins the 4th stage of the neighborhood criterium in Roches Carrées, Sunday April 3, 2022 at Lamentin but it is the Estonian Gert Kivistik ((Team Credit Mutuel Garage Premier), who wins the 11th edition of the test.

This 4th and final stage, the longest of the competition (102 kilometres) is also the most difficult. The circuit crosses the Belem, Bois d’Inde and Gondeau districts before climbing to the Roches Carrées school.

Impressed by the ease of the Colombian climber Diego Soraca Cabezas (Pédale Pilotine), winner of the 2nd section of the 3rd and wearer of the yellow jersey since the day before, his opponents (in particular Credit Mutuel Garage Premier or Team Briquebec Cotentin), come up with a strategy to isolate it…and it works.

As the kilometers go by, the yellow jersey gets bogged down at the back of the race. And in the final climb it is Jose Léonel Diaz Espitia (JC 231), another South American climber putting on a show to win the 4th stage.

In the general classification the Estonian Gert Kivistik (Team Credit Mutuel Garage Premier), which currently wins all the competitions in Martinique, also wins in this 11th criterion of the Lamentin districts.

I am very happy. Faced with the strength of my competitors, my victory is that of patience and observation” declares the Estonian Gert Kivistik who expresses himself better and better in French.

Gert Kivistik succeeds Martiniquais Willy Roseau, the last winner in 2019 (competition canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 epidemic).
