Final statement from G-20 Indonesia summit condemns war in Ukraine, welcomes grain export deal

The final communiqué of the G20 summit on the Indonesian island of Bali, approved on Wednesday, “strongly condemns Russian aggression against Ukraine”, but at the same time welcomes the agreement to export grain through the Black Sea .

And the G20 said in its closing statement that the “majority” of its member states “strongly condemn the war in Ukraine”, believing that this conflict “undermines the global economy”.

The world’s 20 largest economies stressed in the joint statement that “the use or threat of the use of nuclear weapons is not permitted”.

The G20 statement stated:

The majority of G20 member states “strongly condemn the war in Ukraine”.

The “war in Ukraine” is undermining the global economy.

Determined to continue efforts to limit global temperature increase to 1.5°C.

The G20 summit’s closing statement welcomed the deal to export grain via the Black Sea.

The declaration also said that international law must be respected and that the threat of using nuclear weapons was unacceptable.

The statement said that member states’ central banks will continue to fine-tune the pace of monetary policy tightening.
