Final Standings for Groups A, B, C and D

Suara.com – Menpora Cup 2021 results Groups A, B, C and D were confirmed after matchday four which took place from March 30 to April 7. The eight teams from the four groups that will appear in the quarter-finals have been confirmed after the last two Group C matches.

In a match at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, Wednesday (7/4/2021), Persela and Persik had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

While in the next match, PSS Sleman managed to win a narrow 1-0 victory over Persebaya. The victory led PSS to the quarter-finals with Bajul Ijo.

Previously last week in Group B, PSM Makassar faced Borneo FC. The surprise occurred in the match, the seeded PSM failed to overthrow Borneo FC and had to accept a 2-2 draw.

However, one additional point for the team made by Syamsuddin Batola was enough to seal one ticket for the quarter-finals.

In the second match, Persija managed to win a dramatic 2-1 victory over Bhayangkara Solo FC.

Persija fell behind in the first half after Ezechiel Ndouasel broke into Andritany’s goal. However, things changed after Osvaldo Haay and Marc Klok scored two goals from the Kemayoran Tigers in the second half.

With an additional three points, Persija, who now has six points to finish at the top of Group B’s final standings, meanwhile Bhayangkara Solo FC, who finished third, failed to advance to the knockout phase.

Persija and PSM Makassar will represent Group B in the last eight, following PSIS Semarang and Barito Putera who have already sealed the two quarter-final tickets available in Group A.

Meanwhile in Group D, Bali United managed to pocket a ticket Menpora Cup quarter-finals after winning a draw in the final match against Persita.

Bagging five points, Bali United came out as runners-up in the group. Stefano Cugurra’s team had to hand over the group winner position to Persib Bandung, who won a dramatic 2-1 win over Persiraja in the last match.
