Final! Plugchieva said why she refused to advise Glavchev – 2024-04-29 07:09:23

The decision to make acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev also Foreign Minister is the main reason why Milena Plugchieva refused to be an advisor to the Prime Minister. She announced this herself in an interview for bTV.

“The foreign minister was a topic all week. I expressed an opinion that was shared by the diplomatic community. I could not be helpful with this opinion and where I can be helpful, and it is normal for me to withdraw,” she pointed out.

“I hope that normalcy and calmness will come in the office. I sincerely wish success to the official office – just as I had the desire to help,” commented Plugchieva.

According to her, Dimitar Glavchev should not have combined the posts of acting prime minister and foreign minister, and a diplomat with many years of ambassadorial experience should have been appointed as such.

“Especially in some complicated circumstances – geopolitical and with many crises in Europe, I think this was the working solution,” explained Plugchieva.

“It’s not fun at all, we have to take these things very seriously. I do not think that society should live with the thought of continuous change. The thought that anyone, at any moment, can become a minister discourages both the public and career professionals from learning languages. This should not be a principle,” explained Meglena Plugchieva.

“I am from the generation that was brought up that success does not lead to an elevator, but the ladder must be used and one must grow step by step. At the moment, things seem to be turning around and with an elevator you can immediately go up to the ministerial post, it shouldn’t happen like that. It seems to me more that it is becoming a party elevator, it is very dangerous,” said the former diplomat.

She believes that with the appointment of Georgi Tahov as Minister of Agriculture, the sector will be calmed down.

“The proposal of the former Finance Minister Asen Vasilev for the transformation of the state forestry enterprises into sole proprietorships with the right to bankruptcy, privatization and liquidation should not have been allowed. This would be fatal for the Bulgarian forests and for the Bulgarian country – in an economic, ecological and social plan”, says Meglena Plugchieva categorically.
