At the end of this special episode of the Kilimanjaro dedicated to the proclamation of the Borgo dei Borghi, Camila Raznovich finally announces the winner: it is Tropea, in Calabria, which beats the two island regions Sicily and Sardinia competing respectively with Geraci and Baunei. For the record, the jurors had a vocation for Albori (Martial), Tropea (Venetians) and Baunei (Tozzi). The village of the villages: fifth place for Grottammare

It did not go well for the Apulian municipality of Pietramontecorvino, in the province of Foggia, and Malcesine, near Verona, both positioned about mid-table and both particularly beautiful. The second, in particular, is a dream place located on the Veronese shore of the upper Lake Garda, which in the clip is practically the host. Meanwhile, the judges Rosanna Marziale, Jacopo Veneziani and Mario Tozzi give Camila Raznovich the envelope with the name of their ‘personal’ winner of The village of the villages. We continue with the ranking: in 6th and 5th place there are Campli (Abruzzo) and a seaside place, as the name suggests: Grottammare, in the Marche region. A paradise ‘between sea and hills’, precisely. (adj. by Rossella Pastore)

The village of the villages: the beauties of Corciano

We stopped in San Giovanni in Marignano, in 15th place: above the Romagna municipality there are Pofabbro (Friuli-Venezia Giulia), Trivento (Molise), Valsinni (Basilicata) and Finalborgo (Liguria), respectively at number 14, 13, 12 and 11 in the ranking of Il borgo dei borghi. We are at the crucial moment, that of the discovery of the top 10 positions. As always, we start from the lowest: in tenth place we find Cocconato, in the Piedmontese province of Asti, which its young people present in a fairly complete way, considering that the duration of the clip is only two to three minutes. Immediately above is Corciano, in Umbria, with its artistic beauties contained above all in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Of particular note is a fresco by Perugino, a pupil of Raphael, still well preserved today. (adj. by Rossella Pastore)

The village of the villages: from Pico to San Giovanni in Marignano

Pico, Pomponesco, Issime and Valsugana occupy the first four positions (from the bottom) of the ranking The village of the villages. Camila Raznovich is not in the studio like the other years: her judges goes to meet them directly in their ‘places of the heart’ around Italy, from Gaeta, in the case of the first, to Bagnaia (Viterbo), with her beautiful Villa Rovere, in the case of the second. “I would like to be able to get lost in the alleys, in the squares, but I can’t, because I have to meet the second juror of this edition …”. His name is Jacopo Veneziani, he is an art historian and a young master of the Sorbonne in Paris. After a short tour to get to know the gardens, we return to the race: in 16th place is piazza Buonconvento (Siena), whose name indicates a gathering of people. Space in the clip also to the kitchen, being Buonconvento famous for the truffles found in the nearby woods. At this point in the ranking, we see that the northern municipalities have started at a disadvantage: it is still a village in the north, San Giovanni in Marignano, to occupy the 15th position. The last classified a The village of the villages

Predictably, the ‘disadvantaged’ villages of this edition of The village of the villages they are those of the larger regions. The village of the villages it is in fact a competition intended for the enhancement of small and semi-unknown realities, and it is therefore understandable that Lazio and Lombardy ranked 20th and 19th respectively, respectively with Pico, in the province of Frosinone, and Pomponesco, in the province of Mantua. After briefly reviewing the beauties of these two villages, Camila reappears on the screen and immediately goes on with 18th and 17th position. The program started a little while ago with his homage to his friend (his and Kilimanjaro) Philippe D’Averio, who passed away in 2020 due to a tumor. But let’s get back to the race: Issime (in Valle d’Aosta) and Borgo Valsugana (in Trentino Alto Adige) are respectively at number 18 and 17. (adj. by Rossella Pastore)
