FINAL FANTASY XIV – Release date for Patch 5.2, Fan Festvial and other content revealed

Square Enix announced today the release date for Final Fantasy XIV Online Patch 5.2 and also revealed Fan Festival 2020/21 and other patch content. The patch 5.2 becomes will be released on February 18. This emerges from a trailer that was shown during the recent letter from the producer LIVE.

The trailer for Patch 5.2, titled “Echoes of a Fallen StarAlso offers insight into many of the new adventures and challenges that players have in this major update to the critically acclaimed third expansion Shadow Bringers can expect.

In addition to the trailer, producer and director Naoki Yoshida revealed new details about the content that you can experience in patch 5.2. These include:

• New main scenario orders – The highly acclaimed story by Shadowbringers continues. Crystarium continues to search feverishly for a way to safely bring the souls of exegetes back to the world of origin.
• New raid: “Eden’s response” – The second chapter of the “Eden” raid series will bring challenging new fights in normal and difficult execution and introduce the key person Gaia, which was designed by the famous Final Fantasy developer Tetsuya Nomura.
• New dungeon: “Anamnesis Anyder” – This new challenge can be tackled with other adventurers or with a group of NPCs thanks to the side-by-side system.
• New test: “Ruby fire” – You can challenge the Ruby weapon in both normal and heavy versions.
• New orders from the Wild Tribes – The Qitari will offer new orders for collectors classes.
• New orders of the “Chronicles of the New Era”: “Battle for Werlyt” – An opportunity to discover the story behind the new weapon series.
• “On a long trip” – This content, exclusively accessible to fishermen, will allow players to board a ship at predetermined times to enjoy fishing on the high seas. Depending on the caught fish, they acquire routine and collector’s certificates. If certain conditions are met during a fishing trip, all passengers have the chance to land the big catch!
• Ishgard Reconstruction News (Patch 5.21) – The next update of the project for collectors and artisans will introduce new content in the diadem exclusively for collectors, new high-level challenges for artisans, a new rating system and much more.
• New Series of Orders to Upgrade Weapons of Resistance Equipment (Patch 5.25) – This line of quests will be expanded regularly as of patch 5.2, allowing players to acquire powerful gear while learning more about the Bozja Citadel and its residents. In the south of Ilsabard, a province of the Empire, lies the Bozja region, which is also known as the home of the Hrothgar. The citizens of Bozja have long been under the yoke of the Empire, but resistance has been growing here since Doma and Ala Mhigo were liberated. And at the heart of the resistance movement is a unifying symbol: the legendary Queen Guard!
• Changes to jobs, adjustments to PvP commands, updates for New Game +, numerous innovations for artisans and collectors and more

In addition to the details of upcoming game updates, the host cities and dates for the worldwide series of Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festivals 2020/21 were also announced as part of the livestream.

These will take place in North America, Japan and Europe, respectively. The details are listed below:

• November 6-7, 2020 – Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2020 in San Diego – San Diego Convention Center
• 19, – December 20th, 2020 – Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2020 in Nagoya – Aichi Sky Expo
• February 20-21, 2021 – Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2021 in London – ExCel London
