Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker launch postponed by two weeks

However, the next expansion for Final Fantasy XIV – called Endwalker – will not be released on November 23. Instead, Square Enix has been forced to postpone the launch by two weeks, until December 7.

Final Fantasy XIV has grown very popular in the last year.

The postponement was confirmed on Saturday via the game’s website. In an open letter to players, game manager Naoki Yoshida lays down flat, and takes full responsibility for the delay.

– There are several reasons for this postponement, but since it is I who controls all aspects of the game, it is I who must take responsibility. Let me sincerely apologize to our players, our Warriors of Light around the world, who have been looking forward to the launch of Endwalker. I’m genuinely sorry, Yoshida writes about what, after all, is only a two-week postponement.

Furthermore, the game manager explains that the postponement was necessary to ensure that everything works as it should and that the quality level is where the team wants it. This will be Final Fantasy XIV’s largest expansion to date, and consequently there is also a lot to be done.

We tested Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker recently, and our own Audun Rodem was left with high hopes for enlargement.

– After a good bunch of hours of hiking in a – understandably enough – empty variant of some of the areas, it is ultimately the context around I look forward to. I look forward to finding out more about what happened to Garlemald, and how the deniers in Sharlayan will continue to stay on the sidelines of what appears to be a kind of apocalypse for Eorzea.
