Dawntrail takes players to Tural, a new and varied area that is home to the big city of Tuliyollal, among other things. Here you can take part in a kind of festival as the region will choose a new ruler, explains the developer.
You can see a taste of the festivities in the trailer at the top of the article.
Otherwise, the expansion entices with an increase in the game’s level cap from 90 to 100, a number of new class specializations – called jobs – and new Allied Tribes. There will also be group areas for players to tackle, an update to player-versus-player and of course new weapons and armor to collect.
For the first time since the game’s launch, Square will also dress up the appearance of Final Fantasy XIV. The development team promises an overhaul to both characters and environments, including better resolution for textures and shadows.
In other Final Fantasy XIV news, Square and Microsoft revealed that the online role-playing game is finally coming to Xbox. The developer aims to launch on Xbox Series X/S sometime in the spring, and promises, among other things, 4K resolution on Series X. More details will come later.
