There have been several protests around the election debate of regional politicians and national party leaders in the provincial government building in Den Bosch. Farmers, among others, made themselves heard at the provincial house tonight.
According to the municipality of Den Bosch, there were hundreds of demonstrators and 200 tractors belonging to Farmers Defense Force (FDF) activists at the provincial house. “This is our last chance to convince voters not to vote for the establishment,” said FDF leader Mark van den Oever.
After the debate, politicians and the public could not leave the provincial house because the building and an intersection in front of the building were blocked. More than 45 minutes after the debate, everyone was able to leave the building.

In addition to farmers, supporters of Forum for Democracy and BVNL also protested. Anti-racism demonstrators also gathered at the provincial house.

The municipality of Den Bosch says it has been informed in advance of the arrival of all these groups of demonstrators. The demonstrators will be given space, but must adhere to agreements about, for example, parking tractors, the municipality wrote in advance.
“At the same time, we expect responsible behavior from the demonstrators,” said the municipality. “The final debate must be able to continue undisturbed, because it is part of our democratic process.”
