The NBA regular season ended last night with a final day contested in both Conferences. While we know the teams qualified for the playoffs and those who will play in the play-in, there was a lot of tension in certain matches. In particular that of the Minnesota Timberwolves against the New Orleans Pelicans. Rudy Gobert spun around and hit teammate Kyle Anderson, landing a punch in a timeout in the second quarter. But this hot situation was not the only one of the evening in the NBA since the Los Angeles Clippers also experienced a moment of completely unreal hesitation. While the Clippers faced Phoenix and had to secure their place in the playoffs, Mason Plumlee and Bones Hyland got into a bad fight when they regained the bench.
Hot situation at the Clippers
The two players from the California franchise were seen head to head on the bench in the third quarter. It all started with a defensive action. Bones Hyland did not listen to Mason Plumlee, who asked him to open up on Terrence Ross, alone in the corner. The Suns guard missed his shot and Plumlee grabbed the rebound, before going on the counterattack. But Plumlee “forgot” his teammate, instead serving Russell Westbrook before recovering the ball following a pass from the former Lakers player. Hyland therefore freaked out and head-to-head with Plumlee on his way back to the bench. The two players had to be separated by their teammates and the situation finally calmed down, with the two men present on the floor during the last quarter. But while Gobert twisted, it shows that the tensions were high last night for some for this last day of the regular season. The Clippers ended up winning 119–114 over the Suns, securing 5th place in the Western Conference.
