The storm ‘Filomena’ has reached Asturias and has dyed white Oviedo. Other parts of Asturias have also seen snow. This is the case of Gijón, Castrillón or Langreo. This morning they remain ten roads closed to traffic of the regional network and in other 54 snow accumulation and ice makes it necessary to use chains. In addition, there are partial rail cuts at different points of the region due to subsidence of the platform or landslides, which the council has indicated in a convenient way and whose solution is already being worked on.
However, in the presence of ice and snow at extraordinarily low altitudes it is recommended avoid travel by car as far as possible. In case of having to circulate, it is advisable to exercise extreme caution and always consult the state of the roads on the 112 Asturias website before embarking on the journey.
The Ministry of Rural Areas and Territorial Cohesion remains working very attentive to the evolution of the storm and has unfolded on the territory all human and material resources available to deal with inclement weather and ensure safety when traveling.
