Film screening »Fever in the Blood« | ZKM

David Amram returns! To celebrate his 90th birthday, the ZKM is showing the Hollywood classic “Fever in the Blood”, which he accompanied with music.

The American feature film “Fever in the Blood” by Elia Kazan from 1961 tells the tragic love story of Wilma Dean and Bud Stamper. Playing in a small town in Kansas in 1928, her love was hampered by bourgeois morals, family expectations, and different origins. Rejection, self-discovery and turning away from one’s own parental home play a decisive role and point to the “coming-of-age” genre. Awarded the Photoplay Award, three Golden Globe nominations and many other awards, the film is considered a classic in American film history and helped the young actor Natalie Wood to her breakthrough.

Director Elia Kazan is not only known for “Fever in the Blood” but also for his film adaptations of “Endstation Sehnsucht”, “The Unconquerable” and many other works.

After the film screening, a lively conversation between David Amram, the manager, producer and filmmaker Doug Yeager and ZKM board member Peter Weibel awaits you.
