The 32nd Malans Film Festival begins on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Over the course of a week, over 30 films will be shown and numerous discussions will be held with the filmmakers.
Courage! – this is the motto of the 32nd Malans Film Festival, which starts this Saturday in the Herrschaft. Overcoming fears and standing up for your own convictions – the films at this year’s Malans Film Festival show how to do that. In the opening film “The last bus”, 90-year-old Tom embarks on a long and adventurous journey in a public bus. “ZSCHOKKE” addresses courage intellectually and questions social norms and injustices of the 18th and 19th centuries.
In “Radical – a class of its own”, a teacher challenges the current education system in order to give his students better prospects for the future. In the documentary film “Guido Baselgia – The Dark Light”, the art photographer boldly breaks new artistic ground. “Jane” offers an impressive look at the life of primatologist Jane Goodall, whose commitment to protecting chimpanzees has changed our view of nature forever.
In the final films, “Diciassette” and “C’è ancora domani”, the main characters also fight for their rights and freedoms. They show that courage manifests itself in both extraordinary and everyday actions and decisions.
The 32nd edition of the Malans Film Festival once again offers a wide range of over 30 films, fine culinary specialties, exciting discussions with directors, actors, the popular stunt workshop and a traditional closing party on the Saturday after next (24 August 2024).
