In 1966, he graduated with a degree in “Film and Television Directing” from the Higher Institute of Film Art in Babelsberg, Germany. 1967 – 1991 he was a director at the “Boyana” Feature Film Studio. 1987 – 1991 was the artistic director of the creative collective “Alfa” at the Feature Film Studio “Boyana”. 1984 – 1991 he was a teacher of film directing and film editing in the Department of Cinema and Television at the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts. 1998 – 2004 he was a teacher of cinema and television directing at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”.
The films are also well attended. He often worked in tandem with the screenwriters the Mormarevi brothers, the screenwriter Georgi Danailov and the cameraman Jacek Todorov.
