Filled with obstacles, Anies shows how successful he was in building Jakarta

Ann Baswedan again responding to the issue of being banned from running in the gubernatorial election (Gubernatorial Election) Jakarta 2024. Hearing this, he was proud of his achievements in developing Jakarta while he was still the Governor of DKI.

“Friends will see what is being done in Jakarta, the treatment of the COVID pandemic, friends will see transportation, you will see cards for the poor, treatment for education and health,” Anies told journalists at JIS, Jakarta a North, Saturday (10/8/2024).

“So this is not something that is what’s wrong with this republic,” he continued.

Anies believes that Indonesia currently needs leaders who are on the side of its citizens. This is what made Anies participate in the regional election competition again.

“Of course, today we need someone who is on the side of equality, justice, and on the side of the weak and that is what made me when I received the call to participate in the political process of the provincial election ,” he said.

He also said that many residents came to his house to complain about the situation in Jakarta. One of them is a resident of Kampung Bayam.

“Every day at our house, residents come from different places saying, ‘Sir, we have this problem, please return it, sir, help us’. Including next door to us, Kampung Bayam,” he said.

“So the intention when assigned is to restore justice, to restore support to those who are weak, to return the citizens of Jakarta to live in peace, not in tension. The state must be there to protect them. The defense doesn’t protect them for just a minute,” he said.

The issue of dealing with Anies was revealed by PDIP General Secretary Hasto Kristiyanto. Hasto admitted that his party received reports of attempts to prevent Anies from running for the Jakarta gubernatorial election. Hasto said that if the report was true, he believed that democracy in the country was unhealthy.

“Yes, if we received the report, there were indeed attempts to block the application of Anies Baswedan,” Hasto said in response to journalists’ questions regarding the case of PKS leaving Anies and starting to intervene in the Indonesian Progressive Alliance (KIM), at the National Gallery of Indonesia, Central Jakarta, Thursday (8/8).

Hasto said that PDIP will continue to monitor the 2024 regional election process so that it runs smoothly. PDIP, he said, believes that anyone who wants to run for office has constitutional rights.
