“Filipino and Chinese national dead after vessels collision in Corregidor Island”

Two foreign-flagged vessels collided in waters off Corregidor Island, leaving a Filipino and a Chinese national dead, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). The incident involved a dredger, MV Hong Hai 189, and a chemical and oil product tanker, MV Petite Souer. The safety officer onboard MV Hong Hai 189 was among those who lost their lives, while three other Chinese nationals remain missing out of the 20 crew members of the ship, 15 were rescued, including four Filipinos. The PCG deployed its BRP Capones to the area after it was informed that MV Hong Hai 189 capsized. All 21 crew members of MV Petite Soeur were reported to be in good physical condition.
