The organizers of the Track Champions League have published a list of 36 players who will compete in this year’s edition of the series. This group included defending champions Dylan Bibic (Canada) and Katie Archibald (Great Britain), as well as Filip Prokopyszyn, who competed in the prestigious series in 2022.
Less than 3 weeks remain until the start of the fourth edition of the Track Champions League – a prestigious series consisting of five rounds. As in previous versions, the competition will be divided into sprint and middle distance, which will include sprint and keirin respectively, and in endurance events, scratch and elimination race.
Today, the athletes who will be seen in middle-distance competitions in the coming weeks were presented. Among the 18 men was Filip Prokopyszyn, multiple Polish champion and bronze medalist of the European Championships in the qualifying race in 2019. He took 7th place in the same competition at the October world championship.
Two years ago, the Polish representative took part in the Track Champions League, in which he placed 14th.
In this year’s edition of the series, the middle distance title will be defended by Dylan Bibic (Canada) and Olympic medalist Katie Archibald (Great Britain). The stars of the competition will also be the world champion in the qualifying race, Tobias Aagard Hansen (Denmark), silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Madison Neah Evans (Great Britain), former winner of the Track Champions League and Claudio Imhof (Switzerland).
The selection of players taking part in the Track Champions League was based on their results in the world championships and Olympic games. After winning the medal in Paris, Benjamin Thomas (France), Iuri Leitao (Portugal), Fabio Van den Bossche (Belgium) and Daria Pikulik qualified. The Pole – silver medalist in the omnium – had already announced that she was focusing on the road and would not take part in the cycle. The remaining players will also not take part in this year’s Track Champions League.
