Filing in Florida – petitbleu.fr

Carambolage has become an unmissable event in Florida. Two groups, or two artists, who have never met, play together on stage and are confronted with sometimes diametrically opposed worlds.

On Friday evening, two groups discovered each other in the Agenaise room: Montparnasse Musique and Commandos Percus. The latter had already been noticed during the celebrations in Agen at the end of August. The fireworks beautifully embellished the martial blows delivered by their percussion. Percussions all the more original the more the musicians try on their own. “The idea was to have mobile tools,” explain the three Commandos we met earlier in the evening. “We weren’t into aesthetic research, but into necessity. We acquired some notions in carpentry, and that’s how we set up our percussion”. Tin cans, parts that look like parts of exhaust pipes, and even a washing machine drum. And it all sounds very, very good. You have to imagine four drummers trying to complement each other. At the origin of their project, an observation: since, a few years before, people no longer went to concerts much, it was up to the concert to come to them. This is how the Commandos Percus come out to meet their audience, with their portable orchestra.

They could only agree with Montparnasse Musique. Around the producer Nadjib Ben Bella, two DJs and percussionists made up and dressed like ancestral apparitions. Techno, Afrohouse and traditional African acoustic music is like a cry from the depths of time. A cry came to the Florida scene Saturday night, in a deluge of shots. One set for each formation, then a set that brings them together – successful pileup!
