According to the Argentine newspaper “Olé”, after collecting league points with the Argentine League Cup champions, the qualifiers are: Boca Juniors, River Plate, Argentinos Juniors and Racing Club, who qualified for the 2021 Copa Libertadores out of 6 seats.
While 6 teams qualified for the Copa Sudamericana 2021 championship, they are Velez Sarsfield, San Lorenzo, Newell’s Oldboys, Taliris, Defensia Justia and Lanus.
The report continued that the Argentine federation hopes to start a new competition (parallel to the canceled League Cup) in September to determine the qualifier for the Copa Libertadores 2021, while the establishment of the Argentine Cup, whose champion also qualifies for the Copa Libertadores.
The order of the qualifying clubs may change again if these tournaments are not held next September, as Velez Sarsfield and San Lorenzo will qualify for the Copa Libertadores instead of the Sud Americana, while Rosario Central and Arsenal Sarande qualify for the Copa Sud Americana to complete the number of qualifying clubs continually.
As for the drop, Tapia announced that the drop has been canceled for two seasons, which means that no team will drop from the 2019-2020 season, which bodes well for Gimnasia La Plata and its coach Maradona after their landing was confirmed by appending the mid-point ranking table.
