It appears that the Football Association elections began early 4 months before their initial date, as more than one player and a former official announced their intention to run.
After Ahmed Hassan, the former captain of the Egyptian national team, announced his thinking about running, as well as his former teammate, Hosni Abd Rabu, Mahmoud Al Shami, a former member of the Federation, announced his candidacy for the position of vice president.
This comes in light of the intention of Hani Abu Raida, the former president of the federation, and Ahmed Shubert, his former vice president, to run for president.
Prior to the start of the battle, Abu Raida and Shawbir agreed on an initiative launched by former council member and media journalist Saif Zahir, titled “whoever died” to forget the previous differences between them before the elections.
Likewise, Ahmed Mujahid, a former council member, who is not entitled to run in the upcoming elections due to the 8-year clause to be present in the new list, agreed to the initiative, closing the conversation about a strong dispute that had caused fiery statements in the previous period between him and Schubert.
