The Sundowns is close to appointing a successor, Pitso Mosimane, to lead the team technically.

South African soccer website Soccer Ladoma said Sundowns will appoint Mankuba Mankithi as coach and Rolani Mokwena as assistant coach.

Betso Musimani had decided to seek the help of Prolani Mokwena in the coaching staff of Al-Ahly, but the latter did not arrive with him to Cairo due to the lack of clarity of his future with Sundowns.

Musimani had won the CAF Champions League with Sundowns in 2016 at the expense of Zamalek.

Musimane led the Sundowns in 2012, winning the League titles 5 times and a summer twice, the Nedbank Cup twice and the Telkom Cup twice, and he also won the Champions League and the African Super Cup.

Musimane was selected as Coach of the Month 5 times in the South African League, as well as the best coach of the season 4 times and won the Best Coach of the Month award in 2016.

Al-Ahly is preparing to face the Arab Contractors, next Sunday, in the 31st round matches of the Egyptian League.
