Al-Ahly officials are continuing their serious efforts to include the Algerian star Youssef Al-Belaili, according to the assurances of the player’s father and his agent.
Hafeez Blayli said on the radio program Saqr Stadium: “Youssef is bound by a contract with Al-Ahly (Saudi Arabia), and his contract with the club is respected.”
He added, “The Saudi club is negotiating with Amir Tawfiq, the contracting director at Al-Ahly of Egypt, and no financial agreement has yet been reached regarding the player’s salary.”
Hafeez said, “The financial dispute is not big, Al-Ahly is a big team, and it is a great honor for Youssef to play among its ranks, but the matter is related to the approval of his club, and the matter will be resolved during the coming period.”
And he continued, “We did not mention the contract period. Al-Ahly offered to borrow Yusef Al-Balayli, but the Saudi club refused, and we are waiting to determine Yusef’s position, either by returning to his club next season, or selling his contract to Al-Ahly.”
The Algerian player’s agent confirmed, “Negotiations are continuing and progress is being made between the two clubs, and Youssef Al-Belayli’s transfer to Al-Ahly is 50%.”
“Tunisia’s Esperance also entered into negotiations with us to join Al-Balaili, and are ready to join the player. I also received calls from other Egyptian clubs, but the negotiations with Al-Ahly are the most serious.”
Hafeez Al-Bailaili concluded his statements, “The material matters and the best offer is the one who will decide the player’s direction in the new season, but so far Saudi Al-Ahly has not fully resolved the situation.”
The 28-year-old joined Al-Ahly from Esperance in the summer of 2019, and his contract extends until the summer of 2022.
Blailey played with Al-Ahly shirt 18 matches in all competitions, during which he scored 5 goals and scored 3 others.
Blailey won the Best Player award in the Confederation of Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions for the year 2019, after winning the CAF Champions League with Esperance.
