Ahmed Mujahid, head of the management committee of the Egyptian Football Association, said that he had increased the contract of Hossam El-Badry, the coach of the Egyptian national team, because his contract contained a clause stipulating this, and he also indicated that he had requested a corona serum in order to save the cost of swabs that reached 6.5 million pounds per week.
Mujahid said in a press conference, “I increased Hussam al-Badri’s contract because the contract had this clause. The five-year committee postponed the decision, and therefore the contract was increased from January.”
He continued, “The clause regarding the annual 10% increase in the national team’s technical staff is included in the contract, and we have committed to it, and what was said about canceling this clause is incorrect, after referring to the minutes of the Board of Directors, there was a delay and not a cancellation due to financial circumstances.”
He continued, “Junior competitions have been canceled due to Corona and so far, what I am saying is not final words, if we were able to complete the competitions in April, we will do so.”
And he added, “I was sent to the administrative body to see whether or not we spend the increase for the team before January, and we also asked to obtain a corona vaccine to provide the dues for swabs.”
“The cost of swabs is 6.5 million pounds a week, and we sent the ministry a request for support because of this matter. We asked to obtain the vaccine to provide for the dues,” he added.
“We were asked in January to facilitate registration for some financially troubled clubs as well,” he continued.
He concluded, “There is full support from the state for Hani Abu Raida in the elections for the executive office of FIFA, and there will be a delegation from the Football Association to support him.”
Hossam El-Badry took over the coaching of the Egyptian national team since September 2019 and led the team in 6 matches, winning 4 and drawing twice, and the Pharaohs scored 7 goals and received two goals.
