FilGoal | News | Menez: I am here to lead Regina to qualify for the Italian League after losing my passion for soccer

Jeremy Menez admitted that he had lost his passion for soccer before moving on to Serie A, Regina.

The French officially joined the newly promoted Italian club for the second degree, days after the club president announced the completion of the contract.

Menez said at the press conference to introduce him: “I am here to win the second division title and lead Regina to qualify for the Italian league.”

The 33-year-old continued, “I lost my passion for football in the last 3 years, and I was not 100% ready for work, we all love football and there are human relationships behind it too.”

“I spoke more than once with the club president and the sports director, and I got positive points from them. I felt love and faith here and it is important to me.”

“A lot of people talk about you without knowing too much, and then they change their minds when they know me. I am an ordinary person.”

Menez played for Paris in 17 French second-tier matches, scored 4 goals and made the same as the team managed to survive despite not completing the season, two points behind the relegation.

He played the French winger with the Rome shirt and then Milan in Italy without achieving titles with the two teams.

The most prominent French seasons came with the Monaco shirt, then Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he achieved 5 titles, then Club America of Mexico, who achieved two titles before the injury ended his Mexican career.

Internationally, he scored only two goals in the French national team’s shirt in 24 international appearances.

Regina previously participated in the Italian League from 1998-99 until 2008-09 in 9 seasons and since then he has not returned again among the big boys.
