The Algerian Riyad Mahrez, the Manchester City player, spoke of the comparisons that are taking place between him and Mohamed Salah.
The Algerian said on “BN Sports”: “The comparison between me and Salah is part of the competition. Salah presented to the English league and performed well.”
“We are two different players, but it is an encouraging comparison and it does not interest me very much,” he added.
The player, who won the 2019 African Cup of Nations, discussed the title, saying: “Winning the Cup of Nations is great for me, my team mates, and for all my country.”
“Our goal was to make our country happy and proud of us,” he continued.
“The situation is difficult with the Corona pandemic, now we are back in training and we are trying to get back gradually and things are looking good,” he said of returning to training in preparation for the resumption of sports activity.
“I am trying to win titles, this is my league and we have to do it very well. I cannot say that we are the best but we are good.”
“We have the potential to win the Champions League title, but it is a tough competition and everyone is trying to win it, and I think the competition will be great to win it.”
Manchester City beat Real Madrid in the round of 16 by a 1-2 result and is awaiting a date for the return match by the European Union in order to resolve the qualification card.
