Liverpool announced the extension of Adam Lallana’s contract until the end of next July, and the end of his career with the Reds on this date.
The Lallana contract was supposed to expire at the end of the current season, which was halted due to the spread of the Coruna virus, before the FA allowed changes to the laws that allowed those whose contract expired to continue until the end of the season.
“Adam Lallana agreed to extend his contract for a short period with Liverpool, and in doing so, he will end the 2019-2020 season with the club,” the club said in a statement.
The statement indicated that after July 31, Lallana would be free to move to any team, and Liverpool would announce the end of 6 years in the player’s career that he spent between the walls of the Reds.
For his part, Lallana told his club’s website, “I am very happy to have the opportunity to end the season here. This means a lot to me and my family.”
The English international recently crowned Liverpool with the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Lalana will end his career with Juergen Klopp by crowning the Premier League within days, with the competition returning after a 3-month hiatus due to the spread of the Coruna virus.
