12 million players is a very large number, mostly due to the presence of the game on the Xbox Game Pass service, in addition to the huge sales achieved by the game on the PC platform.
The game was announced to have reached 10 million players in the first month of its release, which means it reached an additional 2 million people in the following two months, at a rate of one million each month.
