Hossam Al-Zanati, director of competitions management in the Football Association, believes that Amer Hussein, the former head of the competitions committee in the Egyptian Football Association, was wronged.
“Upon taking up my post, Amer Hussein was the first person I spoke to on the phone,” he said. “In my opinion, he was wronged.”
He continued, via OnTime Sports 2, “Last season he was criticized for the pressure of the African and Arab championships, Al-Ahly and Zamalek participated in 4 championships at the same time.”
He continued, “Amer Hussain was excused, and I challenge what is said that Al-Ahly did not play for 50 days because of his African and Arab ties. Al-Ahly was playing a game every 4 days.”
He continued, “My disagreement with him was in the way he dealt with the media. He was the head of the Competitions Committee, so he appears more medialy, but I am a director of a department, which causes problems for me in the media to refuse to appear in the media.”
He added, “The African Confederation due to some data other than the dates of Al-Ahly and Zamalek matches this season, so how can I not change their dates in the league as well.”
Al-Zanati went on to talk about the stadiums in Egypt, saying, “Egypt’s stadiums are very good, but we have two problems, maintenance first and we have a problem in hospitality, which is what European clubs benefit greatly from.”
And he completed, “The Swiss Lorenzen club, for example, benefits from 25% of the revenues of the hospitality of his stadium.”
