Al-Ahly players celebrate with the goal of Fashha against the first army
Al-Ahly CEO, Mohamed Morgan, revealed that he had agreed to hold the Red Team match with Sun Downs in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League at Cairo Stadium.
Morgan said in statements to the “With Schubert” program on Radio Sport, that the match will be held in the presence of 30,000 spectators on February 29th, at six in the evening.

Marjan said: “Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, informed Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, of the approval to hold the match while laying the foundation stone for the Fifth Compound branch.”
He added, “The club president made many contacts on this file and there was constant communication with Ashraf Sobhi, the very active minister, to transfer the match from Al-Salam stadium to Cairo Stadium, which happened.”

Al-Ahly had received verbal approval to face the South African Sun Downs at Cairo Stadium, FilGoal.com learned earlier on Sunday.
Mahmoud Al-Khatib, head of Al-Ahly, and Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, obtained approval from the security authorities, pending the arrival of the official letters to the club.
Al-Ahly announced, through its official website, earlier that Mahmoud Al-Khatib made extensive contacts today with Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, and Omar Al-Janaini, President of the Football Association, to confirm Al-Ahly’s request and his desire to hold his match against Sun Downs at Cairo Stadium.
Security authorities earlier rejected Al-Ahly’s request to face Sun Downs at Cairo Stadium, before the club repeated its request.
Al-Ahly is expected to face Sun Downs on February 29th in the first leg of the African Champions League quarter-final.
