Ahmed Fathy, the former star of Al-Ahly and the current Pyramids, revealed that he did not know that he would leave to meet Al-Jaish in the last minutes, to the applause of all his teammates.
Fathi ended his career with Al-Ahly by appearing in front of Al-Jaish in the last round, before leaving the stadium in the last moments of the match, to the applause of everyone on the field.
Ahmed Fathy said, “The farewell shot was very difficult for me, and I did not know it would happen.”
“I did not know that I would leave the stadium in the last minutes in front of the Army Corps. The shot was untidy and unexpected,” he added on his CBC appearance.
And he continued, laughing, “Before the start of the match, I was joking with Sayed Abdel Hafeez (Al-Ahly football manager) that he was supposed to bring me a cake and we all celebrate before my departure. We laughed together and it ended and I did not know what would happen and the shot was not in agreement.
He continued, “I felt very happy with this scene. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.”
And he added, “I felt very happy and very sad as well.”
And he continued, “The best thing about the shot is that it was uncluttered. Everything is out of order, better.”
He added, “The day before the meeting with the army, Muhammad Al-Shennawi spoke about me very well, then Saad Samir and Musimani spoke before I spoke in front of everyone. I was very moved and sad, but I told my colleagues that this is the year of life.”
He continued, “I told the players that I love them and that Al-Ahly will remain Al-Ahly and will not be affected by any player. Senior players have retired and Al-Ahly will continue and will continue.”
