Sayed Abdel Hafeez, director of football at Al-Ahly Club, revealed the reason for the delay in the return of team player Ramadan Subhi.
Al-Ahly coach Rene Filer revealed Ramadan Sobhi was not traveling with the team to South Africa for the return match against Mamelodi Sun Downs.
“Ramadan does not have a chronic injury as is rumored, and the player is training with the team,” Abdel Hafeez said in statements to Ten Channel.
“All there is to it is that Ramadan feels pain during the implementation of the qualifying program, and therefore his return to matches was postponed.”
The ball director followed, “I talked to Ramadan, and he will not travel for treatment abroad.”
He concluded, “Ramadan will return to group exercises during the next few days.”
Ramadan Sobhi is spending this season on loan from Huddersfield Town to Al Ahly.
The 23-year-old has been absent from Al-Ahly since the Border Guard meeting in the League Championship on December 15th
Ramadan Sobhi participated this season in 9 games between the league and the African Champions League. He scored five goals and scored one.
Al-Ahly will travel to South Africa tomorrow evening, Sunday, in preparation for facing Sun Downs next Saturday in the second leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals.
Al-Ahly beat Sun Downs today in Egypt with two goals for nothing.
