A new proposal is scheduled to be presented today, Thursday, to the CAF Executive Office, regarding the venue for the CAF Champions League final.
A source from CAF – who requested anonymity – told FilGoal.com: “There is a proposal to establish the final of the African Champions League in Egypt or Morocco by lottery system if two teams from both countries arrive to meet.”
“The final will not be held in a neutral stadium. Rather, we will draw a lot, which in turn will determine the venue for the match, either in Egypt or in Morocco,” he explained.
He stressed again, “This is if one team from Egypt and another from Morocco reach the final.”
When asked about the chances of resorting to a lottery to determine the final location, he said: “In a large proportion, this will be the choice that the Executive Office will vote on.”
Al-Ahly will meet with Wydad, and Zamalek with Raja in the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
