Mahmoud Al-Khatib, head of Al-Ahly Club, received a letter from his counterpart in Mamelodi, Sun Downs, Patrice Motsepe, during which he emphasized his great appreciation and expressed his desire for more cooperation between the two clubs in the future.
Sun Downs President said in his speech that Al-Ahly deserves to be crowned with the current version of the African Champions League.
Al-Ahly overcame the Sun Downs hurdle in the quarter-finals after beating them with three goals to one goal in the aggregate.
It is noteworthy that Al-Khatib sent a letter to Sun Doans President earlier thanking him for the good reception of Al-Ahly in South Africa. (See details)

Al-Ahly should be proud of having a president like you, not only Al-Ahly but all the African clubs, from which Al-Ahly was chosen Century Club in Africa, they should all be proud of your being Al-Ahly.
I have always been a good follower of Al Ahly and its great successes over the years, and I am very confident that this club and under your leadership will achieve more successes and growth.
I always like to work together, and for Al Ahly and Sun Downs to develop football within our country and within our African continent..
I wish you all the best for the upcoming, and you deserve to win this year’s Champions League.
