Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana won the All England 2022 after winning over Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, 21-19, 21-13.
Fikri/Bagas started the match well with a 3-1 advantage over Ahsan/Hendra. The lead of Fikri/Bagas continued to 7-5.
Ahsan/Hendra did not want to continue to let Fikri/Bagas freely gain points. Hendra’s Smes and Bagas’ mistakes made the score even at 8-8.
However, Fikri/Bagas’ pressure could make them lead by two points, 11-9 at the interval.
After the interval, Fikri/Bagas continued to maintain their lead. The difference in numbers had become three points at 13-10 which continued to be 14-11.
Ahsan/Hendra then stomped and won three consecutive points which made the position even stronger, 14-14. Fikri/Bagas gave a good response by scoring two consecutive points from the Bagas smash, 16-14.
Ahsan/Hendra again equalized at 16-16 after Ahsan and Hendra’s attacks took turns to win points.
Fikri/Bagas again led 17-16 after Hendra’s shot hit the net but the score returned to a draw at 17-17. The score drew again at 18-18.
Ahsan / Hendra had turned to lead 19-18 but the score was again tied at 19-19 after The Daddies’ attack went wide.
Fikri/Bagas pressure was able to make them get game points at 20-19. Smes Fikri then immediately won the first game with a score of 21-19.
Entering the second gym, Ahsan/Hendra got a better start by recording a 4-2 advantage and continued to be 7-3.
However, the mistakes made by Ahsan/Hendra made the path of Fikri/Bagas smoother. Fikri/Bagas turned ahead at 11-8 through seven consecutive points.
During the interval, Ahsan received treatment on his foot and was able to continue the match.
Fikri/Bagas were able to maintain their pressure on Ahsan/Hendra. They succeeded in creating the difference in points to six points, 18-12.
Reaching match points at 20-12, Fikri/Bagas finally succeeded in securing victory on the second opportunity. Their attack penetrated the Ahsan/Hendra defense and ended the match with a score of 21-13.
Previously in the women’s singles number, Akane Yamaguchi succeeded in becoming the champion by defeating An Se Young in the final match. Akane won two straight games, 21-15, 21-15.
