Figures from Sesame Street make a special show on racism

After the death of the African American George Floyd, the characters on Sesame Street and the news channel CNN recorded a special program on the subject of racism.

“Not all streets are like Sesame Street,” said the character Louie, father of Elmo, in the program broadcast on Saturday morning (local time). “We all love and respect each other on Sesame Street.”

CNN moderators and experts then answered questions that children and families from across the US had previously sent on video. There had previously been a similar CNN format on coronavirus.

For days now, thousands of people in the United States have been demonstrating against racism and police brutality and for justice for the African American Floyd, who was killed in a brutal police operation in Minneapolis.
