An illness as sudden as brutal has just carried off Béatrice Jahan, a well-known figure in local commerce.
Since 2011, with her husband Antoine, she had run a shop on the Place du Marché whose name alone, the Toy Tree, made children dream.
Having moved to Draguignan with her family at the end of the 90s, Béatrice did not take long to feel Dracénoise and to become actively involved in her adopted city.
Municipal councilor without label during the last term of Max Piselli, she had notably worked for the renovation of primary schools.
Her customers and all those who worked with her will remember this pleasant shopkeeper with her eternal smile and unfailing empathy. “She did not listen to herself, but was always listening to others”, confides with emotion her husband Antoine.
Another thought comes to mind, going back in time as if to dispel a bad dream and erase the present, “on December 24, Béatrice was still there behind her counter…”.
This will be one of the last times she is seen officiating at her place of work. A few weeks later, on Sunday January 29, her life went away… Béatrice Jahan was 54 years old.
His funeral will take place this Friday, February 3, at 2:30 p.m., in the Saint-Michel de Draguignan church.
To her husband, three children and family, Was-Matin offers its heartfelt condolences.
