Fights, drunkenness and noise in different parts of the country

Police precincts across the country are reporting holiday rioting after Boxing Day.

Published:

From Monday evening well into the night, the country’s police precinct released dozens of reports of party riots.

– People pee here and there

Tromsø in particular stood out on Monday night, with several police missions to deal with drunk guests in the city.

But, if we are to believe operations manager Robin Lindberg, there isn’t much noise this year: it’s all about “normal weekend stuff.”

– There’s a lot of people out there and a lot of drunk people out. In general, people argue a little, pee a little here and there, act a little, and argue with the janitors a little, she says.

  • 01.40am: A 20-year-old drunk woman is reported to the police for urinating on the stairs of a restaurant in central Tromsø.
  • A drunk in his twenties is reported for the same thing, but this time at the door of the Storgata camping pub.

At the same time as Operations Manager Lindberg is speaking to VG on the phone shortly after 02:30, a new message arrives: someone who has already been expelled from the center has found their way back.

– We’ll see what to do with him, says Lindberg.

Sleep on the roadway

In Trondheim, an 18-year-old woman caused a sensation outside the Society. The patrol tried to eject the woman who responded by punching a police officer. No one was injured, but the woman was taken into custody and reported.

Shortly after 01.35 the Trondheim police had to leave again. This time there was a fight between several people. Two of them were handcuffed.

Half an hour later, the Trondheim police were faced with a new challenge:

A woman lay down on the road and refused to move. She wanted to sleep in peace.

The police finally got the woman into a taxi and home.

At 02.08 a drunk climber in his twenties attracted the attention of the police. He was hanging by one arm from Solsiden’s crane.

Fortunately, the man got out and was ejected from the scene.

Two Bergens to Geilo

Geilo, 11.15 pm: The police received a complaint from a guest who behaved badly in a hotel.

It involved a 20-year-old man from the Bergen area. Guards handcuffed the person in question before police expelled him from the area.

But it wouldn’t be long before the Christmas peace was broken again. Just over an hour later, the police had to arrest a man again in the same hotel:

Again it was a Bergen in his twenties. He was also expelled.

Called the emergency number for a lost jacket

In Ålesund the police did not intervene at incoming messages.

A drunk young man called 911 and wanted help taking off his jacket. He had messed up the label on the jacket and wanted the police to come to the scene to have the jacket handed over to him, writes the Møre og Romsdal police on Twitter.

The order has been rejected.
