The federal government obliges the city to change this and reduce the number of noise-affected people. It has now announced that low-noise pavements are to be installed on around 200 kilometers of roads. These are special asphalts that reduce the rolling noise of cars. “Up to 110,000 people in the city of Zurich who are affected by excessive noise emissions will benefit from the installation of low-noise coverings,” says the city council’s statement.
