Fighting in Oslo – reports of use of firearms

At 22.15, the police have stepped down the search for perpetrators, but the investigation is in full swing.

– We have a lot of information we are working on washing. Then we hope that the information can enable us to arrest the suspects, says operations manager in the Oslo police district, Rune Hekkelstrand.

The operations manager does not want to go into detail on whether firearms have been used or not, other than that it is one of the police’s hypotheses.

– We have also ensured video surveillance from the area, which means that we have received that hypothesis, he says.

It was around 5.40 pm on Tuesday night that the police received several reports of a fight at Galgeberg in Oslo.

– We quickly came to the place and saw that two people are exposed to violence. Several people have left the place, probably in a car, says Hekkelstrand.

The car is searched for by helicopter and police dogs.

The police received information from witnesses that firearms had been used on the spot, but have not yet come into contact with anyone who has been injured after using a firearm.

– There are many witnesses at the scene, and we are investigating whether firearms have been used. We are not in contact with anyone who is injured by firearms, says Hekkelstrand.

At 01:00 on Wednesday night, no injuries have yet been found, according to the police. No one has been arrested in the case either.
