A year ago, chef Tom van Lysebettens (35) of Cochon de Luxe in Ghent died of incurable colon cancer. In the last months of his life he described for HLN how he continued to fight against the tumors and for more time with his wife and children. Today his beloved Alison (36), Daniel (9) and Leo (6) commemorate him, his eternal humor and the life mottoes that still motivate them. “When I see him in photos, the loss hits me hard.”
