/ world today news/ I think that today it is incorrect to raise the question “When will the West give combat aircraft to Ukraine?” I am sure that the first F-16s have already been delivered to Kiev. Because for security reasons, they announce such decisions, as a rule, a month after the conclusion of the relevant transactions and the start of all processes.
Therefore, it can already be said that the armed forces of Ukraine are getting saturated with NATO aircraft. At the same time, I am not sure that the issue will be limited to the transfer of the F-16.
So the Alliance was just beginning to test the situation in the air. If the use of these fighters from the point of view of the West is justified, then they can transfer other, more modern aircraft to Kiev.
The situation with pumping Ukraine with modern weapons in general is becoming much more complicated. Never mind that Ukrainian pilots are still learning to fly the F-16, and that will supposedly take many months. NATO members can send their own pilots for these purposes.
Yes, they are now stating that these fighters will use Ukrainian airfields that are currently not suitable for this. But they can use airports in Romania and Poland and Ukrainian airstrips as “jump airports”.
All this threatens to increase the intensity of the conflict, a new round of tension on the fronts. And the transfer of NATO fighters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine will require us to make new efforts to debug the air defense system.
In addition, Russian intelligence will have to do extensive work so that later our military can hit the airfields where these fighters will be based.
Unfortunately, the situation on the fronts has seriously deteriorated, and today it is completely clear that Russia is not conducting military operations against Ukraine. What we are seeing is a classic proxy war with NATO whose army is directly involved in the fighting. Whole divisions of the military union are fighting there, which has its own structures in this country and transports a huge amount of equipment there.
Ukraine is now used by the alliance as a training ground, “processing” dozens of its combat systems. NATO members have felt the taste and do not hide it at all.
Moreover, they already see that there are no “red lines” for them anymore. Roughly speaking, they are no longer afraid of Russia – they understood that our military will not hit those decision-making centers where they constantly increase military pressure on our country. It’s an unpleasant fact, but we have to live with it.
The Western military, which actually commands Ukraine’s armed forces, wants to use the F-16 during Kiev’s planned counteroffensive on one of the threatened sections of the front.
If the armed forces of Ukraine manage to break through the front in any of the sectors, they will actively use these fighters to “finish” us in this direction. If they can’t break through the front, then the F-16s won’t help them either, because our air defense systems must have enough capabilities to counter this threat. Our forces may shoot down these fighters as it is not a “miracle weapon”. These are regular planes, not the latest models.
