LIBREVILLE, October 2, 2024 (AGP) – NGOs Space for Giants (SFG) and Conservation Justice (CJ), announced on Tuesday, October 1, the signing of a fifteen-month cooperation agreement regarding the monitoring and management of fences mobile electricity in four provinces, we learned.

The main objective of this cooperation agreement, which concerns four regions, in particular Haut-ogoue, Ogooué-Lolo, Ngounié and Ogooué-lvindo, is to develop sustainable solutions to Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC), through the application of mobile electricity. fences. This is to ensure that community plantations are protected in the areas mentioned.

It will be realized through the development of harmonious cooperation based on the technical specifications of each organization, especially on the methods of cooperation, the methods of communication and the methods of implementing activities, we state .

Also, with strong roots in the installation of electric fences in Gabon, Space for Giants engages in areas within its competence, using its technical knowledge in deploying mobile electric fences with local communities.

For its part, Conservation Justice will intervene on aspects related to the community side by identifying the beneficiaries of electric fences and encouraging them to make requests to the competent administrations, especially Water and Forests, Environment and Agriculture .

In addition, apart from the target areas of the project, the collaboration between SFG and CJ could affect other areas according to priorities and opportunities.
