TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Short video platform TikTok announced a new policy regarding the removal of videos or content. Quoted from Reuters, TikTok said it will automatically remove videos that violate their community policies.
TikTok currently uses a device that can recognize and flag potential violations. The problematic video will then be reviewed by the security team.
If a violation is identified, the video is removed and the user will be notified.
In the next few weeks TikTok will automatically remove certain content that violates the policy, namely those that threaten the safety of children, nude content, sexual activity, violence, activities that are considered illegal and goods whose circulation is regulated.
This automatic removal will help TikTok’s security team deal with contextual content, such as bullying, violence, misinformation and hate.
TikTok will alert users when they violate the rules. If repeatedly violated, TikTok will permanently delete the account.
Social media platforms, such as TikTok and Facebook, recently protested globally for amplifying violence and misinformasi.
