As explained in the VG Council on Thursday, the facade in Rieschweiler-Mühlbach will be renovated during the autumn holidays. In Maßweiler, the corridors and stairways are getting new floor coverings. So more loans are needed. In view of rising interest rates, loans should be made as quickly as possible. However, they can only be withdrawn when it is clear how much credit is required. The financial office of the VG administration is therefore putting together the investments for the year 2022 so that the necessary loans can be taken out as quickly as possible.
Loan duration of 30 years
Interest of 3.05 percent is required on the loan to finance the 1.6 million euros. There was only one supplier for a 30-year loan term. If – as initially planned – 3.33 percent of the sum were repaid annually, this would mean an annual financial burden of approximately 100,000 euros, including interest, for the association of municipalities.
However, the council decided that it should be asked whether it would not be possible to repay only two percent a year. The resulting funds released (approximately € 26,000 per year) will be used to co-finance the other necessary loans in an acceptable manner.
