– There has been a fight where an unknown number of people have run from the place after the incident. We are now searching in the immediate area for five to ten people, says operations manager Tor Guldbrandsen.
The police are in contact with several witnesses and those involved on the spot.
– We have contact with a couple of people who have information about the incident, but none of them should be seriously injured. One person has a small cut over the nose, says the operations manager.
Young adults
There are young adults involved in the incident, all men, according to police.
– The witnesses have also seen that one of those involved carried an ax. We have not found a weapon on the spot, nor an ax, says Guldbrandsen.
The police are working on the spot with investigations and questioning of witnesses.
– This has happened in central Greenland where there are a lot of people in circulation. We work to interrogate witnesses, track security, search for people and to bring in video surveillance, he says.
In contact with two people
Initially, a mass fight was reported with up to ten people involved. The police are working to clarify a certain number.
At around 15.45, the police write that they have come into contact with two people who were involved in the incident.
– One of these had a cut over the nose which was examined on the spot, it says in the message.
The others involved had left the place before the police arrived, they write.
– We have searched in the area, but have not come into contact with several involved. Also no information about injured. The crime scene has now been investigated, and witnesses questioned. The police are opening a case, they conclude.
