Kickboxing association GLORY has found a new date for the fight between Badr Hari and Benjamin Adegbuyi on Thursday. The heavyweights will be in the ring on December 19 in a studio closed to the public.
Hari-Adegbuyi is the headliner of GLORY 76. That event was scheduled for November 7 in Rotterdam Ahoy, but was postponed after Hari tested positive for the corona virus last month.
Due to stricter corona measures in the Netherlands, the first GLORY event since the start of the pandemic can no longer be held in Ahoy. The fighting will take place in a studio, where only essential personnel are allowed to be present.
It will be his first fight for 35-year-old Hari since December last year, when he had to give up injured against Rico Verhoeven in a sold-out GelreDome. Adegbuyi is a training partner of Verhoeven. The Romanian is number one in GLORY’s heavyweight rankings.
In addition to the game between Hari and Adegbuyi, there will also be a welterweight title fight at GLORY 76. Frenchman Cédric Doumbé will defend his championship belt against Dutchman Murthel Groenhart.
With Levi Rigters, another Dutchman comes into action. He will play against the Frenchman Hamaili Massinissa. In the other fight of a four-man heavyweight tournament, Croatian Antonio Plazibat meets Frenchman Nordine Mahieddine.
