Ishmael was shot in the two thighs and beaten up.
Mustafa and Cebrail are used to spending time together. It even happens that the two friends share a few drinks in establishments in downtown Charleroi.
On that day, March 8, 2016, Cebrail and his friend were inside the café “Le Mainz” in Charleroi. A certain Ismael also consumes on the spot.
It is past midnight when a fight breaks out within the establishment. Ismael is beaten by two men who appear behind her back. While on the ground, the man who is more than one meter tall is hit with a stool. Ismael tries to defend himself, smashing the glass of Leffe that he holds in his hand on the face of one of the protagonists.
Detonations resembling gunshots are heard. Ismael is hit by two bullets, which land on each of her thighs.
The cafe owner’s son intervenes to put an end to the violent fight, before the alerted police arrive quickly on the scene. Several traces of blood were also discovered on the ground that evening by the investigators.
Mustafa and Cebrail deny any involvement in the blows inflicted on Ismael. Besides, the two men confirm that they never met Ismael’s gaze. Present at the hearing, he is holding a completely different version. Questioned by judge Davio, Ismael formally recognizes Mustafa and Cebrail as the two people involved in the fight.
For the prosecution, Mustafa is indeed involved in the fight. His DNA was also discovered at the cafe. Mustafa confirms that he was involved in a fight, but with gypsies. “Besides, I was injured in the nose. But I did nothing to Ismael.” he said in his defense. The prosecution requested a 4-year prison sentence against Mustafa. The acquittal is required for Cebrail, for lack of elements supporting its implication in the fight.
The file was put on hold on March 26, to allow to join to the procedure a second file involving Mustafa.
