Fight against the shortage of blood: Blood bags collected

A blood donation campaign is taking place from March 4 to 6 in the Koumassi industrial zone. On the initiative of the company Plastica, 1500 blood bags are to be collected during this 3rd edition. Objective, save lives and fight against the shortage of blood at the National Blood Transfusion Center (Cnts) in Treichville. The donors took their blood pressure, their weight… before submitting to the final phase of said donation. Gradually, they took their places under a tarpaulin prepared for this task in the company of health workers.

Dr Kpangni Jean-Claude, responsible for sampling and planning, representing the director of the National Blood Transfusion Center Konaté Séidou, indicated that the participants in this operation are showing solidarity.

He rejoiced in their enthusiasm. An act which joins the will of the Cnts to reduce the insufficiency of blood bags which saddens families and especially to increase the number of blood donors while making them loyal.

For his part, Abbas Badreddine, Director General of Plastica, presiding over these blood donation days, insisted on the preservation of life by saving patients in need of this precious liquid.

He hopes to obtain 2000 blood bags at the next edition. He appealed to everyone to get involved. As for Balley Narcisse, 1st Deputy Mayor, he sees this campaign as a humanitarian action. Because, for him, to give blood is to give life. Hence his support for the initiators of the ceremony.
