Libreville, Tuesday February 6, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – This committee must propose concrete solutions in 15 days.
A meeting yesterday in Libreville brought together the Minister of Economy and Participations, Mays Mouissi, that of Commerce, SMEs/SMIs and income-generating activities, Perfecte Amouyeme Ollame, and representatives of economic operators and consumer associations. The aim of this meeting was to find solutions against the high cost of living with an emphasis against inflation. To this end, the government and its partners have agreed on the need to implement the recommendations resulting from previous meetings on the fight against the high cost of living.
Parafiscal measures and their impact on the prices of basic necessities were also discussed. Participants considered it necessary to carry out structural reform. For the Minister of the Economy, all stakeholders must get involved to put an end to this scourge that is detrimental to the daily lives of the Gabonese people. A working group was thus formed with the mission of proposing concrete solutions with the aim of effectively combating inflation and supporting the purchasing power of households. Proposals expected in 15 days.
