These are words pronounced by President Sergio Mattarella on the occasion of the presentation ceremony of «The days of research», which the Airc Foundation has been promoting since 1995

«To ensure that the effectiveness of research results does not encounter obstacles, it is necessary to remove and overcome conditions of territorial divide. It is our responsibility to ensure that these gaps do not arise in the fight against cancer. Universal care and equal rights are indispensable principles of the Republic, as required by the Constitution. Research, prevention, treatment, go hand in hand. The fight against cancer is exemplary ground in this respect.” These are words spoken by President Mattarella on the occasion of the presentation ceremony of «The days of research», which the Airc Foundation has been promoting since 1995 to turn the spotlight on the topic of cancer, to inform the public about the progress of oncological research and raise funds for prevention , diagnosis and treatment of tumors.

«Tackling cancer requires a collective effort that goes beyond the borders of individual countries. The hope at European level is to be able to invest at least 3% of GDP in scientific research and education, with the aim of setting up programs that look to the future and manage new challenges in a structured way”, said Andrea Sironi, president of the Airc Foundation. These are important words that should make everyone reflect, both on the crisis of our Health Service and on the importance of research and education in our country.
